This watercolour seems to be unfinished and r4eveals Middleton's technique as he worked on the foreground and village houses. However, the scene of a peaceful valley village and church is well captured and conveyed by the artist.
Middleton's watercolours are often unsigned and the present work was identified by the late Cyril Fry. who dealt extensively in his work..
