This lovely, richly coloured lithograph is one of a number which Unity Spencer made over her career. This would seem to show one of her fellow Slade students, who also features in the 1952 etching 'Slade Students', with a view across a perhaps shared room in digs in London, towards a mattress on the floor, a ladder-back chair and pot plants on a windowsill. Such lithographs, made on limestone by the artist, are rare to the market and may well have been unique. This one certainly has no evidence of an edition and has the feel of a mono print.
